Black is not a colour I use very often and I’ve no idea why because I love the pop it’s given to my card.  I used the Hellebore Flower Die Set from Whimsy Stamps along with a sentiment from the Big Wishes Sentiments (digital) that was released this month.  Also new is the gorgeous Sprinkles Stencil,

I made the flowers from white Foamiran, which I coloured with soft pastels.

I inked up a piece of white card with Picked Raspberry distress oxide ink, then spritzed some water droplets on to lift some of the colour.  Once dry I applied some glitter paste through the stencil and wow!  The effect is dee-lish-us.  I didn’t have any striped paper and definitely wanted the black to lift the pink so I made a sheet in Photoshop.  I think I’ll be using this a lot more lol.

Hello Friend

Another fairy card!  I just love these little sweeties so much and am thrilled that Whimsy Stamps are now stocking them, and also adding to their collection each release …. so lots more sweetness to look forward to!

This little fairy is Hello Friend, and I went with my favourite pink colour combo for this one, Pink + Bev = Nirvana lol!  I have a few new digital sets in the Digital Sentiment Sets section of the Whimsy store, with more to come in the next few releases.  I’ve used Make a Wish from the Birthday Wishes Sentiments.  I resized it in word (using the format; crop tool) to the size I needed to fit in the top corner of the card.

I used copic markers to colour the image, and once done I inked in some clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  Copic colours used are:

Hair: E40, 42, 44, 47
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Pinks: RV19, 55, 52, 10, 0000
Leaves: YG67, 61
Star: YR27, 24, Y11

The papers are by First Edition, the kraft coloured one has the most beautiful golden sheen to it … LOVE ♥

I finished off with some die cut lace (die is from Joanna Sheen) and mulberry flowers.

I have two more pink cards to follow in the next week or so, guess I’m well back in my pink phase.

Fairy Gifts For You

Hello from a rather soggy North East.  Ugh we’ve had non stop rain for days now, I can’t WAIT for the weather to wake up to the fact it’s actually spring!  So I made a bright and cheery card, I’m thinking that’s about as bright and cheery as I’m going to get haha.

The stamp – Fairy Gifts For You – is from the new April release by Whimsy Stamps.  There are two adorable little fairies available this month, I have a card with the second fairy scheduled for next week.  I’ve used one of the fabulous sentiments from the Fly By Sentiment stamp set.  The links are at the end of the post.

Copic colours used are
Hair: E29, 27, 25, 21, 50
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Red: R27, 24, 22, 20
Beige: E42, 41, 40
Green: YG67, 63, 61, G20

I found this dinky little enamelled bee in my stash, sooo cute!  I die cut some swirls from gold glitter card for a li’ bit ‘o bling.

The papers are Maja Designs from a couple years back (Summertime maybes?)

Love your hugs shaker card

Whimsy Stamps April release is full of spring goodness.  There’s also a fabulous Shaker Maker combo die set which I used to make my shaker card …. LOVE the stitched border on the shaker frame!  It’s a good size so perfect to make a full sized square card.  I teamed it with the Spring Flowers background stamp and  added some bunnies and a sentiment from the Hugs Bunny clear stamp set.

I stamped the background stamp onto watercolour paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I blended on 4 different colours of Distress Oxide Ink (Broken China, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade), one in each corner.  I used some of the tiny butterflies and flowers from the shaker set inside the shaker together with some sequins and glitter – gotta have sparkle in shaker cards!  I fussy cut around the images so I could pop them on the front of the card.

I coloured the bunnies and flower pots with copic markers:
Bunnies: C3, 1, 0, 00, R20, 00
Scarf & flowers: R85, 81
FLower pots: B04, 02, 00, 000

I’ll be back on Thursday with another card for the release featuring one of the delectable fairies by Marina Fedotova.

Spring Fairy

I love lilac and baby blue together, I forgot just how much till I made this card using one of the March release fairies from Whimsy Stamps.  The stamp I’ve used for today’s card is Spring Fairy

The papers are from an older First Editions paper pad – I’ve had this one quite a few years now.

I used the following copic colours for this one
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Hair: E47, 44, 42, 40
Lilac: V17, 15, 12, 01, 0000
Blue: B14, 12, 41, 0000
Bunny: C3, 1, 00

The wings have a coating of distress glitter, the rest of the image is just plain old sparkly because of the delish cryogen card I used to stamp on.  The pearlescent sheen that catches the light makes for such a pretty image.

I cobbled a banner together using a Cheery Lynn die by chopping the end off to shorten it to fit the sentiment then gluing the end back on … you can hardly even see it wasn’t made to fit unless you really look for it Winking smile

I popped a little “bottle of wishes” onto the card – we all need a few spare wishes now and then!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend, I’ll be back on Sunday with a card for April’s Whimsy Stamps release.

Shabby Happy Birthday

This poor post has been sat in limbo for almost two weeks.  Somehow I managed to schedule it for next to never, oopsie!  I love these Envelope Edger dies from Whimsy Stamps, they are the perfect addition to a layer for my frou-frou cards.

This card was a quick one to make, even with the machine stitching.  I added some extra detail to the tag by using the Farmhouse Greenery Stencil over the patterned paper.  Some mulberry flowers and a resin frame finished off the card.

I popped some tiny polystyrene beads amongst the flowers and then slathered on the stickles.

I finished off the inside to match the front.

Fairy and her bunny and Whimsy Stamps news

I’m on a roll with the fairies lol.  Here’s another of these little sweeties from Whimsy Stamps, this is Fairy and her bunny.  I went for a more softer colour palette for this card, as opposed to the last fairy card in pink and green.

The copics used to colour the image are
Purple: BV13, 02, 01, V20, Voooo
Yellow: YR31, 30, 0000
Hair: E29, 25, 21, 50
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 0000, R20
Bunny: C3, 1, 0

I love the bling the cryogen cardstock gives off, I didn’t even need to use the old Wink of Stella pen!  Just some distress glitter for the wings and bunny tail.

The paper is Craft&You Vintage time, and the gorgeous silk ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.

Make a wish fairy

I’m back with another of those adorable little fairies from Whimsy Stamps, this one is Make a Wish Fairy.  Love these little cuties so hard!  I’ve gone with a pink and green colour theme, rather bright for me but I love these colours together.  The papers are a First Edition pad that I’ve had for a while.

I used the following copic markers to colour up the image (the bling is the actual Cyrogen cardstock – well, apart from the wings which got an extra dose of bling)
Hair: E33, 53, 51, 50
Skin: E13, 11, 00, 000, R20
Pink: RV34, 32, 10, 000
Green: YG67, 63, 03, 01
Bunny: C3, 1, 00

I finished off with some die cut stars and a little die cut heart along with some mulberry flowers.

I have a few more fairy cards to share later on.

Very special friend

It’s new release time at Whimsy Stamps and there’s some fabulous new goodies to play with from more of the sweetest new fairies, stencils, delicious background stamps as well as DoveArt, new images and sentiments stamps.

I’ve linked the products used on my shabby chic card at the end of the post.  I’ve used one of the new sentiment stamp sets and gorgeous Farmhouse rubber background stamp.  I stamped the background over patterned paper with Pumice Stone distress ink.  LOVE how it jazzes up the paper and totally transforms it.

I used the “friend” sentiment from the new Fly By stamp set, and teamed it with a sentiment from an older stamp set.  These new stamps mix and match with other stamps so well!

I also used the new Envelope Edger dies for the top layer of the card.  These are simply gorgeous!

A couple butterflies fussy cut from some (un)matching patterned paper just finished off the card and picked out the peach in the flowers and paper.

I’ll be back Monday with a card featuring one of the new fairies.
